DEEP DIVE
I am seeing a great many AI newsletter sprouting up. To be honest with you I even thought of starting one myself. But what would be the point in writing about a subject that is new to a lot of the world, without some real world battle scars and decades of experience?
Every bit of research that I have done points to the notion that you should start with something that is near and dear to you and/or you have experience in, when creating a newsletter. I think it would be wise for me to go down that path as I think that I have reached an inflection point in my career. I hear more and more that I should start a YouTube channel, create a course of some sort, etc. I think those thing will indeed come to pass.
I have also heard that people actually enjoy my writing. You can check out a sample here, as that link is my personal blog. I think that was the catalyst in creating this newsletter. Another is that I am highly skilled in many database systems. A rather strange statement coming from a very introverted person. I just know what I am good at, and after 25 years of working with such systems, it is time to share my knowledge, expertise, and insights.
The database world is changing rapidly, and around 4 years ago, I began to see a torrent of new technologies on the horizon. My tenure at my previous employer was starting to come to a close, so I took it upon myself to get certified in the realms of GCP, AWS, and Azure. Those investments in time and money have paid off immensely. As stated before, it is also time to share my experiences so I hope you enjoy this newsletter in the years to some as much as I look forward to creating and curating it.
Remember, I get the same benefit as you from reading this newsletter.
Thanks,
Gladstone
